Sermon Outline
  1. We, as Jesus followers, are not exempt from sinning, though the consequences are greater.

    - If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. [1 John 1:8-9 NLT]

    - Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. [Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT]

  2. We, as Jesus followers, may struggle in some areas of our lives till the day we die.

    - If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. [1 Corinthians 10:12-13a NLT]

    - Now return the woman to her husband, and he will pray for you, for he is a prophet. [Genesis 20:7a NLT]

  3. We, as Jesus followers, are directly affected by our thoughts and view of God.

    - Then Abimelech called for Abraham. “What have you done to us?” he demanded. “What crime have I committed that deserves treatment like this, making me and my kingdom guilty of this great sin? No one should ever do what you have done! Whatever possessed you to do such a thing?” Abraham replied, “I thought, ‘This is a godless place. They will want my wife and will kill me to get her.’ [Genesis 20:9-11 NLT]
