Step Three - Discover Purpose

John 10:10b;Hebrews 6:1a

Step One – Know God

Step Two – Connection. Community.

Step Three – Discover Purpose

Step Four – Serve Others

The goal of Starting Point is to see every person living God’s ultimate purpose for their life, which is to share His love and make an eternal difference in the lives of others.

Calvary Church Government

  • Led by Pastors and Directors
  • Guided by Elders

We believe in a plurality of leadership.

  • Served by Stewardship Team

The Stewardship Team gives oversight to all church finances.

We believe (Leviticus 27:30; 1 Corinthians 16:2):
- We are all called to tithe.
- The Lord will lead us to give offerings.
- Some have the gift of giving.

The giving of tithes and offerings is worship to God and an expression of our faith and relationship with Him.

Giving is an act of worship, an expression of gratitude and a response of obedience toward God.

  • Strengthened by Deacons

All ministries are important.

Make A Difference
We believe all of us were created to make a difference in the life of another person. We believe your life will never make sense until you find, develop, and fulfill that purpose.

Ephesians 2:10; Acts 20:24; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7

At Calvary Church…

  • Every member is a minister.
  • Every task is important.
  • Every member is a “10” in some area.

We want to help you discover what you were created to do and to find a place to serve others. You can do that by taking the spiritual assessment and joining a ministry team.

Ministry desire is both a sign and evidence of being born again.

There is a difference between the person who has been given new life in Jesus and the one who has not opened their heart to Jesus.

The sin nature is centered on self.

God heals our nature and fills our hearts with love. Love finds joy and fulfillment in serving others.

Why Discover Your Gifts?
Ephesians 2:10 – We have been created for ministry.

1 Peter 4:10 – We have been gifted for ministry.

John 15:8 – We glorify God when we use our gifts.

Colossians 3:23–24 – We will be rewarded for ministry.

John 4:31–34 – We find fulfillment when we use our gifts.

1 Corinthians 4:1–2 – We have a responsibility to use our gifts.

Discovering and using your gift is what gives life purpose.
