Certainty

Pastor Mark Johnson

Acts 9:15-16

Have you ever been certain of something only later to discover you were dead wrong?

Three lies the enemy whispers in our ears.

Lie #1: You are too bad to be forgiven.

Lie #2: You can never be used by God.

The Bible is filled with people who at first think they cannot be used by God.

Paul turned his story of shame into a testimony of God’s grace and glory.

Our worst hour becomes the moment of God’s greatest act of love in our life. When we deserve to be abandoned He reveals His patience and love.

The enemy points out our failure but God speaks to our possibility.

You are His chosen instrument.

Lie #3: What God is asking you to do is ridiculous.

For Paul the task was ridiculously big.

It also may seem ridiculously small.

It can also seem ridiculously risky.

There is an element of Ananias in everything Paul accomplished.

That ridiculous thing, the risky thing, that small and maybe even forgotten thing that you step out and do may be the biggest thing you ever do.

Be willing to do the ridiculous and the fruit will go into eternity.

Of this you can be certain.
