FAITH UNITY

Hebrews 11:6

Unified biblical faith is key to a healthy church.

Three common beliefs must remain the same:

1. A healthy church acts on God’s promises.
It is estimated that there are some 3000 promises in the Bible.

The core of a healthy church believes that God keeps His promises.

2 Peter 1:3-4

All promises have conditions. The purpose of the promise is to move us toward the divine nature.

This is the purpose of the promise: to develop the divine nature.

Key for the church: As we have problems and blessings in life, we look for the divine nature.

A healthy church acts on the promises.

Faith in Jesus’ promises is where we learn to act.

Romans 10:8-13

2. A healthy church is unified that Jesus is Lord.
At the core of a healthy church must be faith in Jesus being Lord.

Jesus being Lord is hard in a secular society with shifting values.

Jesus being Lord is difficult with a body that has a do it your own way nature.

Jesus leaves us struggling on the battlefield of our personal desires.

Jesus as Lord has us marching against the flow of secular wisdom.

The aim of discipleship is being a student of Jesus’ teaching – learning to think, act, and feel by the divine nature

This is hard, but it gets easier. You experience the results of the promises as you are a committed part of the family of God.

Matthew 28:19-20

We do this by obeying Him and accepting His Word as final.

Faith in Jesus as Lord is where we stand.

3. A healthy church is unified that Jesus is Savior.
All people will someday confess that Jesus is Lord.

Not everyone will know Him as Savior.

Romans 10:8-9

It is the heart that must be convinced, not the mind

John 1:9-13

Faith in Jesus being Savior is where we are born.
