Sermon Outline

1. Each of us, whether we realize it or not, organizes our life around a story. Once in place that story effectively sets the parameters of our life.

2. The story we choose to believe determines our destiny.

3. Once a story’s in place it doesn’t have to remain in place! We can exchange one story for another.

4. Jesus isn’t a mythical figure in a fictitious story; He’s the living Savior who wants to shatter the myth we can’t live inside a new story! (Romans 10:13; II Peter 3:9)

5. “When the story telling goes bad in culture the result is decadence.” (Aristotle)

6. Human decadence not only births bogus stories, it makes them sound believable.

7. There are stories that seem right, but they end in destruction. (Proverbs 16:25)

8. The resurrection offers undeniable proof Jesus’ otherwise preposterous claims aren’t preposterous at all.

9. Jesus wants to surprise you with a new story, and every moment of life offers a chance to embrace it!
