Sermon Outline

Kingdom Culture is Counter-Cultural
Pastor Clark Pfaff

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
(Matthew 4:17, NKJV)

Point #1: Being a Part of the Kingdom

13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.(Matthew 7:13-14, NLT)

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.(Matthew 7:21, NIV)

Point #2: Doing God’s will is the Kingdom Culture

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.(Romans 12:2, NLT)

Point #3: Living the Kingdom Culture

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. (Romans 12:1, NLT)

Later on in the same letter Paul says all of our lives is living the culture of the kingdom of God. He says: If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. (Romans 14:8, NIV)
