Trials

Romans 8:28 (ESV)
The book of Acts is filled with the revelation of the power of God working in the world.

James, the brother of Jesus, would write to the believers scattered across the known world.

James 1:1–4 (NIV84)

Let’s look at four words: “trials of many kinds.”

1 Peter 1:6 (NIV84)

Two key truths about trials:
1. There are many kinds of trials.
2. God can take our worst trial and turn it into good.

We should understand trials, because many times as Christians, we see every trial as an attack of the enemy. But there are many things in life that happen that put our faith on trial.

We do things or make decisions at times that then become a trial. Will I act like Jesus?

I. There are choices trials.

If you can’t identify your choices trials, you are doomed to repeat them.
When we are in these trials, we need to recognize them and learn from them.

II. There are people trials.

III. There are persecution trials.

We have a tendency to put every trial in this category. We need to be careful, especially in regard to missing what are simply the other trials.

God has allowed this persecution over the centuries.

1. He will be there with you.
2. The testimony of your life becomes a beacon of light.
3. Great is the reward in Heaven.

The disciples anointed of the Holy Spirit showed us the way through persecution trials: they rejoiced!

IV. There are life trials. Exodus 17:1–7 (NIV84)

They were in the desert, and they needed water, which seems like a legitimate need. But, they failed the test.

What should they have done?
They should have asked God for help.
