Sermon Outline

Revelation 1:17-20

Revelation 1:10-11

Theologians say these seven churches represent a view of what all churches will face during the Church Age.

Jesus wants the churches to be healthy.

Corrections:

  • Their love for Christ is no longer fervent.
  • They tolerate immorality, especially sexual immorality.
  • They tolerate false prophets.
  • Jesus calls one church dead.
  • One church has grown lukewarm.

2 Peter 1:3-4

For the faithful who keep His instructions, there are promises:

  • The Tree of Life which is fully found in Heaven.
  • The Crown of Life is the reward in Heaven.
  • For faithfulness in the face of heresy.
  • For authority during the millennial reign.
  • For followers who live for the Kingdom.
  • For those zealous for the kingdom of God who will share the authority of God in the future.

Followers of Christ will face temptation on the earth to take the easy road and get along, to compromise the truth of God’s direction, and to be seduced by false teachers.

There will always be a cry against accountability and responsibility.

Jesus’ big warning was to repent or He will take away the light of your lampstand.

There are two churches that Jesus did not criticize. One was the church at Philadelphia.

Revelation 3:10

Remember these two things:

  1. The judgment of Revelation is not imposed on people by people. It is imposed on people by God for their rebellion against God.
  2. The judgment of Revelation ends with Jesus’ returning and setting up His reign.

John shares this word of prophesy inRevelation 22:6-7

Revelation 22:18-19

May Calvary Church always be a church that lives to please God.
