Hebrews 9:27
There are many misconceptions about Heaven.
Both Heaven and Hell are Biblical concepts.
This is the biggest issue in life.
One of the biggest lies is that there are many ways to Heaven or that all paths merge in Heaven.
Different religions have diverse perspectives on punishment and reward after death:
- Atheist – all things are a matter of accidental evolving of life with no life after death.
- Islam – a day of judgment where individuals are judged by Allah leading to either paradise or hell, based on deeds and faith.
- Hinduism – emphasizes karma, where one’s actions determine future reincarnations. Negative actions can lead to suffering in future lives.
- Buddhism – focuses on karma and rebirth; negative actions can lead to unfavorable rebirths.
- The ultimate goal is Nirvana, escaping the cycle of suffering.
- In Hinduism and Buddhism there is a loss of all personal awareness.
- Judaism – views of the afterlife vary; some believe in a form of punishment or purification, while others focus on the importance of living a righteous life.
- Christianity – believes in Heaven and Hell, where souls face eternal reward or punishment based on their faith in the works of Jesus and redemption in His name. However, rewards in Heaven are built on actions during life.
The statement that we are on different roads to the same place is based on ignorance.
Matthew 28:18-20.
Supporting missions is one of Calvary’s core values. We want to answer the call of Matthew 28 by going, sending, and praying.
Teaching and inspiring the Church to share faith is a gift, the gift of evangelism. Being an evangelist is a responsibility of all believers.
The most basic way to evangelize is to:
- Pray for church events.
- Be friendly to people at church, especially people we don’t know.
- Invite people to church.
Who is God putting on your heart?

- Prepare your 3-5-minute testimony
Aim for conversations, not debates.
This is our responsibility. Do you really care about this person?
When we see with heavenly perspective, we stop worrying how our life is perceived in an earthly perspective.
Paul’s perspective had changed. To live is Christ, to die is gain.
Things to prepare:
- Your 3-5-minute testimony
- People for whom you carry a burden for their faith
Sharing Faith
Tips for having spiritual conversations
An adult friend whose faith you are unsure of
- Be intentional, but no pressure.
“Hey, can we talk about something important to me?” - Start by asking questions.
“What is your faith background?”
“What do you believe today?”
“How does a person get to Heaven?” - Share your faith story with them.
“Can I share my story with you?”
Remember, five minutes or less. - Let them know they are important to you.
“You are my friend and you are important to me.” - Give them permission to call you out on not showing your faith through your life.
“I hope my faith shows through my life. If it doesn’t please be my friend and call me on it.”
Always remember, we aim for conversations, not debates.
