Are you spiritually healthy?
Part of that is emotional health.
Will you help others? Contact those five names this week and encourage them.

Joshua 1:9
Three times in the opening words of Joshua God says to him, “Be strong and courageous!”

In verse 9, God drives the thought home even more:
“Don’t be terrified; Don’t be discouraged.”

God’s message is: don’t let the circumstances rule your spirit.
We get the same kind of commands in the New Testament:Philippians 1:27-28, 2:14-15, 4:4
Romans 4:12, andI Thessalonians 5:16-18

What is this? Put on a good face? Absolutely not, God gives Joshua two revelations in how to stay strong and courageous that we can learn from.

1. The Power of His presence

Joshua 1:5
There is supposed to be an ongoing connection between us and the presence of God.

Ephesians 5:18 - Be, being filled.

Psalm 16:11 - Our attitude reveals our connection with the Spirit of God.

ReadActs 16:22-35

Many people are spiritually anemic because of a lack of spiritual connection.

2. Meditate on God’s Actions

Joshua 1:3,Romans 10:17

What are you meditating on?

Our attitudes reveal our attention to the Word of God.
Application of the Word is key: I must obey the Word to reap the fruit of the Word.
We need to bring the promises of the Word into our hearts and our homes.

When you think of what He has done, hope and joy will rule in you. It is not just a good face; it is an internal living hope.

What does your attitude reveal?

1 John 5:4-5
