The Supremacy and Sufficiency of the Cross
Hebrews 10:1-18

1. The rules and rituals don’t work, v. 1-4

“…it can never by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near."

“Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?”

Two takeaways:

a) something has the power to make you whole
b) sin doesn’t have to always be a part of the equation

2. Jesus expresses the will of God with His body, v. 5-11

I Corinthians 6:18-20

3. Jesus rests in His accomplishment and so can you, v. 11-18

Resting in the sufficiency and supremacy of the Cross means four things for us…
a) I am eternally accepted by God, v. 11-13
b) I am whole and clean before God, v. 14-15

Understand these two things…
1) my position- “perfected for all time"
2) my progress- “being sanctified”

c) I am free to live from the inside out, v. 16
d) I am now required to relate to God differently, v. 17-18

v. 17- “…then he adds, I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more.”

v. 18- “Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.”
