Week 3 Revival

May 2, 2021 | Mark Johnson

Acts 2:37-41

What do you know about revival?

Revival, in a bigger picture, is many times used with the term awakening.

In the book “Revival”, revival is an awakening of men to their spiritual concerns.

A.W. Tozer said, “Revival is that which changes the moral climate of a community.”

Revival can be personal or in a church or city, but what we want to think about today is national revival.

Revival, or awakening of a nation, is a sovereign move of God.

Read the book of Jonah this week.

Acts 2:37

The first Great Awakening

  • It was a sovereign move of God in answer to prayer.

Other awakenings:

  • The Second Great Awakening
  • Revival of 1857
  • Pentecostal Awakening
  • Jesus People Movement

God has moved in unlikely places many times throughout history.

God moves by the power of His Spirit.

God has moved before. He can move again.

Ezekiel 22:26-31

In dark hours, the Church needs to stir to prayer.

Three prayers this week:

  1. God, move in me to Your will.
  2. God, move in America.
  3. God, how would You have me to join with others in prayer?

Will God find the voices of prayer today?
