Love Is A Force

Matthew 26:6–13 (ESV)

Love is a force. Love drives us, changes us, and motivates us.

Love is not selfish, love is giving.

This is demonstrated in no higher degree than the actions of Jesus.

Most of these people are people who love Jesus, and that force has produced action.

Whatever Mary saw, whatever she felt, she had to act.
She had to do something.

This was an act of love and there are lessons.

  • She gave out of her prized possessions.
  • She gave extravagantly.
  • She gave without holding back.

She demonstrated the force of love.

There was no self-glory in this gift.

Here is the lesson: Generous, self-forgetting, humble acts of service are precious in God’s sight, even when they are not in others’ sight.

Those who don’t love, rarely understand the acts of those who do.

Those who don’t love, see the natural actions of love as radical.

Those who don’t love, also see the radical acts of love through the eyes of their personal loss.

When we know God as our provider, what we give to Him is His anyway.

Do you really love Jesus? Is your love for Him a force in your life?

  • Jesus says, “If you love me you will love your brother.”
  • Jesus says, “If you love me you will obey my commands.”
  • Jesus says, “Whatever you do to the least of these you do unto me.”

We are meant to live out our faith in here and out there.
