Sermon Outline

Jeremiah 31:33

When you read through the Bible there are amazing women of God from cover to cover. These are women from whom we can glean valuable insights. These are women who made bold choices, showed compassion, generosity, strong faith, devotion, selflessness, determination, courage, and loyalty.

Gender equity might be a controversial subject in some places; it never has been with God. He routinely used women to advance His plans on Earth and He’s still doing it today.

Psalm 119:11

Heart lessons are lessons that can form and shape us more into the image and character of God.

Jeremiah 31:33

Our first look is at a young girl from the Old Testament, mentioned as Naaman’s servant. She was a beautiful reflection of selfless compassion.

2 Kings 5:1-10

Her story challenges and motivates us to think outside of ourselves and our own situations and to be mindful of others’ needs.

Our compassion and selfless acts can bring eternal change.

Luke 8:1-3

Jesus saw beyond her outward appearance. Not only did He see her, but He saw who she could be and He commanded the demons to leave her.

Throughout the ages Jesus reveals His presence and love especially to those who are often overlooked or less important by the world’s standards.

John 20:11a

Mark 16:1

John 20:11b-17

The enemy works hardest where he knows a person may be used greatly for God’s purposes.

Evidences of a life devoted to God:

  • Devour His Word
  • Cherish prayer and quiet times
  • Have a heart of worship
  • Gather often in His house to hear preaching and teaching of the Word

Jesus sets us free and gives our lives purpose as we live for Him.

He is greater than any and all sins that may be in our lives.

Questions:

  1. We may not currently be in the best situations, but can we see beyond our situations and reach out to the hurting people around us?
  2. Is your desire to be close to Jesus a duty you submit to when time allows or is it a driving force in your life?
  3. Are there things written on your heart that need to be erased?
  4. Are you ready to let God wash them away and begin writing words of life on your heart?
