What Can We Count On? God’s Word

Isaiah 55:8-11

We all desire stability and consistency in life.

Because of a misplaced trust in people and things that fail, we live our lives feeling insecure.

1 Peter 1:24-25

God’s Word fills the distance between God and us.

Jesus - The Word - came from Heaven to Earth.

John 1:14

John 3:13

Hebrews 4:14

We can count on God’s Word for nourishment and growth.

God’s Word shows us what is sweet to eat and what is bitter... what’s good and what’s bad.

Psalm 119:103

God’s Word gives us wisdom and understanding so we don’t live foolishly.

Proverbs 1:7

God’s Word always fulfills its purpose.

What are the purposes of God’s Word?

Simple steps to take to learn, grow and be secure through God’s Word:

  1. Read your Bible every day.
My favorite books to recommend to read:
Genesis, Exodus, Proverbs, Isaiah, Mark, Acts, Romans, Ephesians, 1 John
  2. Read a chapter or section every time you eat.
  3. Read one chapter or section once a day for a week.
  4. Come to Equip on Wednesday nights.
  5. Join a men’s or ladies’ Bible study.
