Daniel 1:1-7


The main topic is the bedrock foundation for everything: The power and sovereignty of God.

God is in control of who is in control.


God’s Sovereignty

God is King

What we actually have is freedom under rule.

  • Obedience honors His goodness and authority as King.

  • Disobedience says we want to be king.

God’s in control of who’s in control.

Our Perspective

God is more concerned with our ultimate holiness vs our current happiness.

Too often, we confuse happiness & blessing with prosperity.

Suffering is an integral part of the Christian life.
