Ephesians 5:25-27

Jesus loved the Church.

From the beginning, there was the local church.

Today you may hear someone say, “I believe in God. I believe in Jesus. I believe in the Church. I just don’t believe in the organized church.”

From the beginning, Jesus said He was going to build His Church.

Acts 2:41

We can see organization.

Acts 2:46-47

Ephesians 4:11-16

If we have the Spirit in us, will we be like Christ or unlike Christ?

Ephesians 5:25b

People who don’t love the Church:

  • are not like Christ,
  • hate accountability and responsibility.

When we understand that Jesus is Lord, we will see our gathering differently.

We will gather to worship Him and expect that He will be with us.

We are the Church, and the Holy Spirit will move among us.

It all starts with this: Is Jesus Lord? When He is Lord, we love what He loves, and Jesus loves the Church.
