JOSHUA

Joshua 24:14-15

Our first lesson.
God will fight our battles but we have to be walking in obedience.
If you are living in defeat where there is promised victory, seek out the sin

Joshua had a mentor.
What we find with Joshua is that from an early age he was an aide to Moses

  • He admired Moses

  • He defended Moses

  • He followed Moses

  • He learned from Moses

Key question: Who is the person God has placed in your life to coach you?
Key lesson from Moses: When he tried to deliver Israel on his own strength he failed

When Moses tried to deliver Israel through God’s power he succeeded
Joshua never forgot his need for God’s blessing.

Joshua was a man of faith.
A man of faith is simply someone who takes God at His word.
The difference between Joshua and most of the people who came out of Egypt with him was in how they learned from their past.
How do you see your problems today? Through the eyes of question or the eyes of faith?

Joshua 9:14-15
Just because something looks good to you doesn’t mean it is good. Always inquire of God.

Judges 2:10-11
In our homes and in our church it is imperative that we pass along our faith in God.

Joshua had a word.
Deuteronomy 3:21-22
Joshua’s word was “fear not.”

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

Joshua 1:9

What battle are you called to today?

Joshua left a message, “Choose you this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
