1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:1-6, NKJV)

Key Point: God cares for us with adequacy in the pasture.

12 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away! 14 In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.(Matthew 18:12-14, NLT)

Key Point: God cares for us with serenity in the valley.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.(Psalm 23:4)
 

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me…(John 10:14, NIV)
 

Key Point: God cares for us with certainty in the fold.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.(Psalm 23:5)
 

9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.(John 10:9, NIV)

Key Point: God cares for us with eternity in the Father’s house.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lordforever. (Psalm 23:6)

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.(Isaiah 53:6, NIV)
