Sermon Outline

1. The way we make decisions not only influences what will happen; it influences what we will become.

2. The folly of a poor decision may not be revealed immediately, but it will be revealed.

3. Godly decisions and God’s blessings don’t always simplify life.  They often complicate it.

4. God often answers the prayers of the faithful on behalf of the compromised.

5. Righteous men and women can make compromised, unrighteous decisions!

6. Lot’s decision was based on sight - not faith.

7. Sight is limited! It may discern the present, but it can never discern the future.

8. Decisions based on sight are often selfish.

9. Decisions based on sight usually pursue the path of least resistance.

10. We rarely fall into sin! We lean toward it.

11. “Every time you make a choice you are turning the central part of you, the part of you that chooses, into something a little different from what it was before...you are slowly turning this central thing either into a heavenly creature or a hellish creature.”  [C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity]
