Sermon Outline

Exodus 13:1–2

“It is mine” is emphatic. God says, “It is my property; I am the owner.”

Exodus 13:12–13

The first born must be sacrificed or redeemed.

We were born spiritually unclean. Jesus was born clean.

Jesus had to be sacrificed so the unclean can be redeemed.

Jesus is God’s tithe.

The 10% does not enact the blessing; faith enacts the blessing.

Romans 5:6

The first fruits must be offered.

Proverbs 3:9–10

Exodus 23:19

Our first fruits are consecrated if we bring them and cursed if we keep them.

It takes faith to believe that 90% redeemed and blessed will go further than 100% cursed. So we give first.

Genesis 4:3–7

It’s not that God wouldn’t accept Cain’s offering; God couldn’t accept Cain’s offering.

Isaiah 55:8–9

God is always preeminent. God can never be second.  For the universe to be in order God must be first. All must answer to Him.

Tithe represents who is first in your life.

The tithe must be first.

Leviticus 27:30

Exodus 13:14–16
