CONSIDER THE POOR

Psalm 41:1-3

Someone in need right now: _____________________

This Psalm was written by David.

Psalm 41:1-13

Everything was going against David at this time.

Was his thinking of those who were helping him when he said, “Blessed is the one who considers the poor,” or was he holding onto the promises of God?

Either way, this is the promise that is repeated throughout scripture:
God remembers the person who considers the poor.

This is not just the financially poor even though that is true. emotionally, spiritually, relationally.

The person who empathizes with others in need will find the blessing of God.

The word “blessed” here is the same as in the Sermon on the Mount. Blessed means having inner happiness.

God’s happiness is found in serving, while the world says happiness comes from getting.

This considering goes past the point of emotional empathy. The considering goes to the point of action.

The Spirit-inspired words give hope to all those who help those in need.

Psalm 41:1-3

When a person considers the poor, the promise is that God considers that person when they are in need.

When you have a heart that turns from self and turns to help others, you get the attention of God.

When you follow the leading of the Spirit, you open the door to the considering of your need.
You will be delivered.

You wrote down a name of one in need.
Consider what you can do.

Psalm 41:5-13
