Sermon Outline

Kingdom Culture Serves
Pastor Clark Pfaff

Key Point: Serving God is the natural response to believing in God.

…faith without deeds is dead. (James 2:26b, NIV)

You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. (James 2:22, NIV)

When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. (John 15:8, NIV)

Key Point: Serving others is serving God.

‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ (Matthew 25:34-36, NLT)

‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ (Matthew 25:37-39, NLT)

‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ (Matthew 25:40, NLT)

I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ (Matthew 25:34-36, NLT)

…are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. (Matthew 25:34, NLT)

But to the ones who do not serve the least of these Jesus says: ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.  (Matthew 25:41, NLT)

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.(Ephesians 2:8-10, NIV)

Key Point: Serving God is fulfilling our divine purpose.

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:10-11, NIV)

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10, NIV)
