Make Us One
Pastor Clark Pfaff

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40, NIV)

Key Point #1: Make Us One in Love

13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another. (Galatians 5:13-15, NLT)

Key Point #2: Make Us One in Unity

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.(Galatians 3:28, NIV)

…in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
(Romans 12:5, NIV)

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep…
(Romans 12:15, NIV)

Key Point #3: Make us One in Burdens

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2, ESV)

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
(John 13:35, NIV)

15 “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! 16 But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!(Revelation 3:15-16, NLT)
