Too Hot To Handle

Pastor Mark Johnson

Acts 9:19-31
1. The urgency of the “GO!”
In this passage, we see Saul consumed with one goal: to make Jesus known.

God never promises safety in living out the gospel.

Abram—Genesis 12:1
Moses—Exodus 3:10
Deborah and Barak—Judges 4:14
Jonathan and his armor-bearer—1 Samuel 14:6-7
Ananias—Acts 9:11

These are just a few examples in scripture pointing to the urgency of the go.

God continues to send people, to encourage them to go. We believe He equips those He calls.

If you’ve been following Jesus for a while, you’ve probably understood the call to go, but for so many of us, we just miss our go moments.

Going is where the adventure lies. You enter into the battle when you choose to obey and go.

2. Roadblocks of the “Go”

Living for Christ among the shadows of your past.Acts 9:21

When we respond to God’s go, we get a fresh start with Jesus. But people aren’t quick to forget.

Feeling unprepared to be used by God.

Not understanding God’s plan.

The more mature I become in my faith, the less I think it’s my job to know what the next step will be.

Ecclesiastes 11:5

There are many who will walk away from the go on their life because they want understanding before they take a step of faith.

Knowing God’s plan will bring pain.
Philippians 1:29, NLT

Embracing God’s command will cost you something.

We can’t control others, but will you choose to go?
•To be a witness.
•To get healthy in the Word.
•To get connected to healthy Christians.
•To follow the leading of the Spirit.
