What is the Bible?
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man - the infallible, authoritative, rule of faith and conduct.

2 Timothy 3:16 – “All Scripture is breathed out by God…”

“Thus says the Lord”Exodus 4:22; Joshua 24:2; Jeremiah 1:9

John 17:17 – “Sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth”

Why did God give us the Bible?
To teach us about Himself

To teach us about ourselves & the world we’re in

To live Godly lives -2 Timothy 3:16-17 

To facilitate a relationship with God -John 17:3 

To exalt Jesus -John 17:6, 8;John 1:1 

To prepare us for mission -2 Corinthians 5:20 


Attitude & motivation
Humility -Isaiah 64:8 

Love vs. Knowledge -1 Corinthians 8:1;1 John 4:8 


4 Questions to put this into action

1. What does this passage say about God?

2. What does this passage say that God has done?

3. What does this passage say about who I am in light of God’s work?

4. What should I now do?
