Sermon Outline

Crash the Chatterbox, Part 4 & 5
By Steven Furtick
Hearing the Voice of God Above All Others!
Pastor John Harper
March 30, 2016

Condemnation: God says, “He has.”

A bold declaration against condemnation is: “I declare that I have a sound mind filled with good thoughts, not thoughts of defeat and condemnation.  By faith, I am empowered.  My thoughts are guided by God’s Word every day. No obstacle can defeat me because my mind is programmed for victory.  I declare this in Jesus name!”

I. The chatterbox speaks lies of condemnation and tells us how bad we are.  This is the voice of self-hate and how much God must hate us.  Understand what God says.

God says He has forgiven us and His grace is cleansing us.

God says He has called us and His mercy is keeping us.

God says He has rescued our lives from the pit and His kindness is crowning us with His love and compassion.

II. The Three P’s of Condemnation are: personal, permanent and pervasive.  What is wrong with me?  I always mess up everything.

III. The difference between condemnation and conviction:  Condemnation’s greatest talent is imitation.  Conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit.  John 16:7-8.

IV. Satan’s main job is not temptation, it is accusation.   The enemy may have a word, but he doesn’t have the last word.  Revelations 12:10-11.

V. Know the difference between the condemnation of Romans 7 and the freedom of Romans 8.  Romans 8 starts out with no condemnation and ends with no separation.

VI. Condemnation reminds us of our wrongs by showing us our shame, but the Spirit convicts us of our sin by reminding us of our righteousness in Christ.

Discouragement: God says, “I Can.”

I. Rejecting the “chatterbox of discouragement” and persisting instead in the purposes of God requires choosing to believe what God has said.  Whether you can hear it or not.  God says, “I can.”

II. Complaining kills contentment.  On the other hand, gratitude gives God honor and serves as a form of self- encouragement.

III. When you are discouraged, understand that God can make a miracle out of any mess.  Staying thankful for God’s favor will give you hope!

IV. Why are you discouraged?  Don’t throw in the towel.  Pound the ground.  II Kings 13:17-18.

V. In discouragement, ask the question, “Devil, is that all you got?”  God says, “I can.”

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Conclusion:  I declare I will choose faith over fear!  I will meditate on what is positive and what God says about my situation.  I will use my energy not to worry but to believe.  Fear has no part in my life.  I will not dwell on negative discouraging thoughts.  My mind is set on what God says about me.  I know His plan for me is for success, victory and abundance.  I declare this in the power that is in Jesus name!
