Jesus: The Claim and the Outcome

 Acts 1:1-3 (ESV)

Jesus’ main claim was that He was the manifestation of the Son of God.

On that first resurrection morning, there was no planned celebration.

The claims of Jesus and the outcome were opposed to each other.

Why would the disciples risk their lives to steal the body, then lie about Jesus being alive when they were too afraid to stand with Him when He was alive?

Now that everything He taught about Himself had been proven false, why step up now?

On the resurrection morning, the claim and the outcome came into perfect alignment.

On Friday, Jesus was the perfect Passover Lamb; on Sunday, Jesus is the resurrected King.

The claims and the outcome are in opposition until you add the resurrection.

The resurrection makes Christianity believable.

1 Corinthians 15:1-9 (ESV)

Jesus made an audacious claim that seemed false until the outcome was altered at an empty tomb.

Another claim of Jesus: we will all stand before God the Father for final judgement someday.
