What About The Unseen World?

Ephesians 6:10-12

The concept of an unseen world is commonly accepted in the Bible.

Truth you need to know:

  1. There is a spirit world that can have an impact on our lives.
  2. The Bible tells us that there are forces of light and forces of darkness.
  3. The forces of darkness are creations of God that are in rebellion to God.
  4. The head of the forces of darkness is named Lucifer or Satan.

Here is the truth about Satan:

  1. He is not all knowing.
  2. He is not all present.
  3. He is a real being.
  4. He has command over other beings.

There is an organized force to keep us from God’s plan for our lives.

So how does this enemy work?
Ephesians 2:1–3

The enemy works diligently to influence the thinking and values of people.

1 Peter 5:8-10

2 Corinthians 11:14–15

The enemy is a deceiver and a liar and he appeals to the disconnected soul, spirit and body of mankind to do as it pleases.

He appears as an angel of light.

Any argument that takes away from the Word of God is inspired by the enemy.
The Word of God is immortal and true.

The subtle influence of the enemy impacts all our lives in ways we at times completely miss, until the revelation of God makes it clear.

What are we to do?
Matthew 6:13 (ASV 1901)

  1. Jesus taught us to pray for deliverance.
    James 4:7–8
  2. Submit yourself to God and resist.

Our greatest defense against the lies of the enemy is the Word of God.

How does the enemy get into your life?

  1. He appeals to desires of your heart.
  2. He deceives us because of ignorance.
  3. He can influence a child when
    A. there is a letdown of parental protections.
    prayer
    teaching
    guarding the influence
    B. there is parental hypocrisy.

John 10:10

1 John 4:4
