Above the Fray

1 Corinthians 13:1-7 (ESV)

The challenge over the past weeks has been to look at our relationships and see how healthy they are with the understanding you can only control you in relationships.

A healthy relationship starts with your desire for the other person.

The foundation for a healthy relationship begins with wanting the best for another.

Luke 10:25-29 (ESV)

Jesus calls us to be above the fray of this world’s actions.

1 Corinthians 13:5b (ESV)

1 Corinthians 13:5b (NIV)

This means that love allows some things to happen and does not change its course because of Jesus in their heart.

James 1:19-20 (ESV)

The Christian rests above the fray.

Not only does Agape not get easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

The record here is like a ledger that keeps track of debt owed.

Here is a hard truth: there is no way for us to get even.

Jesus can redeem our sorrows.

Jesus took all our sin to the cross. It either gets forgiven or we have to pay for it with our eternity.
