Sermon Outline

John 14:1–3

The New Testament refers to the second coming of Jesus more than 300 times.

Acts 1:10–11

2 Timothy 4:7–8

We should live in anticipation of the day.

Titus 2:11–14

What is our blessed hope? The appearing of Jesus.

Jesus redeemed us, purified us, and made us zealous for good works.

The early church believed He could return at any moment and so should we.

1 Thessalonians 4:16–18

Because the Lord did not return, there were rumors that they had missed Him.

The word “Rapture” does not appear in the Bible.

“Rapture” comes from the Latin word that means “caught up.”

The day of the Rapture will be a great day for believers, but many bad things will be going on here before then. The judgment of God will follow to call people to Him.

The Rapture is only for believers. A righteous generation will be snatched away, but He will leave behind those not covered by the blood.

Romans 8:23–25

1 Corinthians 15:51–53

Truths about the Rapture:
It will happen suddenly.
We shall be like Him.

1 John 3:2

We will no longer be subject to any form of death. For the believers, this will be a time of celebration in Heaven, but also a time of the believers’ judgment.

2 Corinthians 5:9–10

1 Corinthians 3:10–15

One of the signs of faith is that we are zealous for His work.

We should use caution. Am I living a life pleasing to God?

What am I building?
