The Glory of His Kingdom

Luke 1:28-33

To make this a special Christmas, take some time to meditate on the glory of God as He has revealed it to us through the Christmas story.

God’s glory is revealed in His creation, wisdom, and power.

Matthew 24:7-8

A kingdom is identified as any group of people who come together around a common system of beliefs and code of conduct.

Jesus was here to establish a kingdom

The basic code is: Matthew 22:36-40

This is the kingdom code for the follower of Christ: love God and love others as yourself. Jesus says this code is fully revealed in the moral law.

We are invited by Jesus into this kingdom, but we have to make a pledge.
Romans 10:9-10

Three certainties:

  • There will always be people who resist Jesus’ kingdom code.

  • There will always be people who are casual with Jesus’ kingdom code.

  • There will always be people who are serious about Jesus’ kingdom code.

This earth is the great testing ground.

1 Kings 8:61

Here is the formula for wholehearted commitment to God:

  • What do I know now

  • How do I seek

  • When do I obey

Remember the Christian has confessed Him as Lord

Our hearts don’t want to live by the rules of God’s kingdom.

“But of His kingdom there will be no end.”

Hebrews 11:37-38

This is the glory of the kingdom revealed in the Christmas message.

How do people make this commitment?
We overcome our nature and world pressure.

John 3:2-3
The spirit of man has to be repaired by the Spirit of God. I have to be born again

What is wholehearted commitment today?
The willful desire to obey today and grow tomorrow.

"Of His kingdom there will be no end."
