Why? - Essential For Victory

Pastor Mark Johnson
September 13, 2015

“To compel every person in Central Illinois to seriously consider the claims of Christ. To support efforts around the world to do the same.”

Matthew 7:24-27 If you are open, God will reveal to you what you need to know when you need to know it.

Are you feeling you are ready for a new step? Head to the desert.

Peter - the boisterous fisherman

James and John - the ambitious sons of thunder

It is important to note that they all thought Jesus was going to set up an earthly kingdom.

Matthew - the tax collector

Simon the Zealot - was looking for a rebellion to join

Judas Iscariot - the betrayer

Jesus had three years to take these guys and prepare them to establish the powerful world-changing Church for the salvation of men.

How did He do it? He taught them about the Kingdom of God.

For the Church to be on mission, the Church has to be on the Word.

For you to be on mission, you have to be full of the Word.

Our first and foremost core value is that the Word is our standard for faith and conduct.

No one can help you if you will not accept the Word as the final authority in your life for all faith and conduct.

You will have limited victory. You will wonder, “Where is God?” if you don't pick up a Bible and open it and learn.
