Ask, Seek, and Knock

Luke 11:9-13

You can’t win spiritual fights by natural means

One of His disciples asks Him, “Lord teach us to pray.”

Jesus starts by repeating a portion of the Sermon on the Mount giving five of the six petitions that He shared in the sermon.

Luke 11: 2-4

Matthew 6:9-13

As you build your prayer list you can use these topics to direct your prayers.

Luke 11:5-8

Have you given up on something?
Jesus says, “Don’t give up.”

Ask and it will be given to you.
All meaning of Scripture is revealed in other Scripture.

James 4:3
Motives weigh into the answer.

1 John 5:14
God’s will matters.

1 Peter 3:12
Our position before God impacts our prayers.

God is under no obligation to answer the prayer of people living in rebellion to Him

When we are living right, our motives are right, and we are in God’s will, we are good.

Seek and you will find.
What are we seeking?

Matthew 6:33

Jeremiah 29:13
God’s presence is the biggest reward.

James 1:5
When in need of wisdom - knowing what to do - come to God in prayer.

Knock and the door shall be opened.
We go in prayer to the God of truth and promises.

Luke 11: 11
God promises us: guidance, comfort, revelation, wisdom, conviction, needs, love, joy, patience, faith and much more.

Prayer is part of the Kingdom of God.
Will you have faith and seek Him?
