Peacemakers

 

Matthew 5:2–12 (ESV) 

The Sermon on the Mount is about the reconstruction of our very being. 


The first step to being “Built to Last” is total demolition of the old man.


The melted man becomes a man of strength and is formed into a peacemaker. 


The peacemaker builds peace.
Peacemaking is an action. 


Peacemaking encourages others to see the positive side of people and situations.


Peacemakers defuse bombs.
Peacemakers do not carry others’ malicious words. 


Peacemakers also let the explosive words flow around them. 


Peacemakers are storm chasers. 
Peacemakers have to be willing to walk into the middle of the storm. 


Steps to calming storms:

1. Pray.


2. Know the amount of your influence.


3. Get advice.


4. Speak with the goal of righteousness in mind.


Peacemakers show people Jesus.
When your life and words reflect Jesus to the point that others are drawn to Him, you become a peacemaker.
