Sermon Outline

• If you are a Christian, you are called to live a life of reconciliation.

• Jesus followers truly living by faith will handle relational conflict and disagreement differently than the world.

1. Reconciliation is the heart of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

• Our relationships with other people, especially with those in whom we have conflict, become God’s way of visualizing the gospel to the world.

2. Reconciliation is a reflection of our spiritual maturity.

• An encounter with God is validated only when it affects our relationships with other people.

3. Reconciliation always begins with God.

• Never forget the real battle for reconciliation begins long before the actual face-to-face encounter takes place – they are divinely inspired.

4. Reconciliation requires a posture of humility.

• Humility was the result of Jacob’s God encounter.

5. Reconciliation requires restitution.

• The way we respond to conflict with those around us has the potential to make the gospel come alive in others.
