When Angels Speak

WHEN ANGELS SPEAK

Luke 1:26–38 (ESV)Have you ever had something happen to you and no one believe you? In the middle of this unbelievable story stands a girl who has found favor with God.

Most people make one of two mistakes with Mary.
1.Some deify her
2.Some ignore her

What we should do is honor her, and learn from her.

Here is a lesson that applies to us:
For her cousin Elizabeth, the great news to her will remove disgrace.

For Mary, this great news will bring disgrace.

Sometimes the world does not understand our call.

Yet Mary says:Luke 1:38

Mary’s faith and obedience are worthy of honor.

Mary’s response is a picture of a righteous relationship with God.

The message of the angels:
Luke 1:34–35 (ESV)

The virgin birth is key to our faith.

Here is why the virgin birth is attacked and yet is important.

If Jesus were born of a man just like us:
1.He would not have been the Son of God.
2.He would have been born a sinner, just like us.
3.His death on the cross could not pay for our sin.

Luke 1:30 – 33

Jesus is the Son of God, perfect and sinless, and through Him we can be made clean.

The enemy pushes us one of two ways:
1.No one is really a sinner, we are just who we are!
2.You have gone way too far, and there is no forgiveness for you!

I have met people convinced of both of these statements.
The virgin birth rejects both of them.

The virgin birth says, you are a sinner in need of a Savior, and to reject Him is eternally destructive.

Luke 1:37 - "For nothing will be impossible with God.”
