Today’s Question: Is the way you are living your life in faith today your final answer?

Matthew 28:18-20

Making disciples is not only what we are supposed to be doing, it is what we are supposed to be.

In this passage the use of the word “observe” is not someone who simply sees and is aware of the events, it means to make people who conform to the teaching of Christ.

A true disciple is known for living like Christ.

How serious are you about conforming your life to the teaching of Jesus? For the disciple, everything in their life is up for judgment.

Psalm 119 uses eight words over and over. Those words are law, testimonies, promises, precepts, statutes, commandments, judgements, and word. Psalm 119 shows us the power and blessing of walking in God’s Word.

Psalm 119 reveals to us why we want to know the Word and should want to live by it. Here are five examples:

1. Psalm 119:1-3 “Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!”

• When I walk in the Word, or obey it, my ways are blameless.
• When I walk in the Word, I will be blessed or find the power of God in my life.
• When I walk in the Word, I do no wrong.

2. Psalm 119:9-11 ”How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

• The Word keeps us pure.
• Knowing the Word keeps us from sin.

3. Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

• The Word teaches us good judgment.
• The Word gives us knowledge about life.
• The Word makes us wiser than those who come against us.
• The Word gives us understanding.

4. Psalm 119:114 “You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.”

• The promises of the Word give us a solid foundation that sustains us as we lean on them.

5. Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.”

There is a lot more in Psalm 119. It is worth time to study it carefully with good notes. This is why we:

• give out notes,
• encourage you to have an appointment with God, pray and read the Word,
• offer Starting Point and Rooted, and
• encourage you to read books.

If you will do these things and do what you learn, you will grow as a follower of Christ and begin to experience His blessings.
