When you give…
Should we give, if we can? Yes

for the purpose of glorifying God,
to help others, and
to make disciples.

Give as you are led by God.

Jesus said “when you give” just like “when you fast”

What not to do

Don’t sound a trumpet in church or in the streets.
Don’t be like a hypocrite: Def: It is someone that says that they are one thing but really are something else. The Greek meaning is “play actor.”
Also don’t let your left hand know what the right hand is doing.

– We need to remember that it is not about us but about God.

God is the rewarder.

How does He reward?
Sometimes it is instantaneous.
Sometimes it takes a while.
That reward might not come until we get to heaven.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Don’t lay up for yourself treasures upon earth.
I Peter 5:8

Lay up treasures in heaven.
