What Happens to Children in the Rapture?

March 6, 2024 | Mark Johnson

1 Corinthians 11:23-32

What happens to children and babies during the rapture? Do all go? Do none go?

  • There will be people who live through the tribulation.
  • Children who are 7 years old will be 14 at the end of the tribulation if they have survived.

There is no scriptural reference to say what happens to children.

Parents carry a spiritual responsibility for their children.

What happens to children who are alive at the rapture of the Church is determined by the parents’ relationship with God.

Communion is a reminder of what Jesus has done for us on Calvary and is a sign of a new covenant with God.

Communion is a recognition that we are in a covenant relationship with God.

When we receive communion, we are testifying to the give and take of this covenant.

Neither communion nor baptism make a child a Christian. Faith in the grace of God does that.

We are cautious about when we baptize children.

When we are baptized, we are recognizing our responsibility to die to ourselves and to live with Jesus as Lord.

We want to know that the child not only understands what baptism and communion mean, but that they have made this commitment seriously.
