Luke 6:12-16

God has always used people to lead.

We live in a day where it is extremely important to know a basic foundation about leadership.

The Bible warns us about false teachers.

How do we know?  Watch for “grace and…”

 

Foundational doctrine  

  • Jesus is the only way to heaven.

  • The Bible is the revealed word of God.

  • We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus.

This by no means involves moral truths that are clearly spoken about in the Bible.

Pay attention to doctrine. 

 

Fiscal responsibility

Two organizations you can use to check their financial standing:
ECFA and Charity Navigator. 

To whom are they accountable? 

What about us?

  1. In selecting leaders there should be prayer.

  2. Leaders are not perfect.

  3. God gives us our gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

God gives the gifts at His will.
Romans 12:6-8

The one who leads, with zeal.
1 Timothy 3:1-9

You will be a better leader in all areas of life if you seek to live by biblical qualities.

Humility is recognized dependence on God.
Hebrews 13:17-18
