How To Pray Throughout Your Day

Ephesians 6:16-18

Learn how to pray throughout your day.

In Ephesians 6:18 God gives us seven instructions on prayer:

  1. Pray in the Spirit.

  2. Pray right now. Don’t wait.

  3. Pray with all kinds of prayers.

  4. Asking for everything you need.

  5. Worry never changes anything, but prayer can change things.

  6. Always be ready.

  7. Pray for all of God's people.

How do I pray throughout my day?

  • Keep a running conversation with God.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "Never stop praying!"
In other words, "Pray all the time!"

  • Schedule prayer times throughout my day.

Here is what you do:

1. Get up with gratitude.

2. Bless God's name before you leave the house.

What is the big deal about God's name?
All prayer is based on how well you know God.

3. As you start your day say, "Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done."

Remember what matters most.

Matthew 6:10

One of the greatest promises in the Bible is in Matthew 6:33.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV)

4.  List your needs.

John 14:13-14

Philippians 4:6-7

5.  Ask for forgiveness.

Psalm 139:23-24

Matthew 6:12

6. Ask God to help you make wise decisions.

Wise decisions are doing what God would have you to do.

This is the portion of the Lord's Prayer that says, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

7. End your day with an encouraging truth.

Matthew 6:13 (KJV), "For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever! Amen!"

What does that mean?

  • God is in control.

  • This is not the end of the story.

  • God and His family win in the end.

Corrie Ten Boom said, "If you look at the world you'll be distressed, if you look within, you'll be depressed, if you look at Christ, you'll be at rest."

It all depends on who you're looking at.

"Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever!"
