Sermon Outline

Anchored in the God Who is Personal
Pastor Clark Pfaff

Key Point: God Knows Us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; 14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.(Psalm 103:13-14, NIV)

Key Point: Jesus Calls Us Friends.

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.(John 15:15, NIV)

Key Point: The Holy Spirit Fills Us

21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.(2 Corinthians 1:21-22, NIV)

Our Response: Include God in Our Lives

A. Be a Disciple

If you love me, keep my commands.(John 14:15, NIV)

B. Ask for Wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.(James 1:5, NIV)

C. Ask for What You Need

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.(John 15:16, NIV)
