Barnabas the Encourager

Acts 11:19-24

Barnabas gave of himself.Acts 4:32-37

  • He was an encourager; that was his life.
  • This was not just something that he did, but who he was.
  • Barnabas means “son of encouragement.”
  • Barnabas gave, and it encouraged others.

Acts 9:1-9,Acts 9:13-14,Acts 9:23-28

Barnabas, the son of encouragement, stepped up when others didn’t want to or were afraid.

Acts 15:36-41

It is Barnabas who guides John Mark and encourages him to stick with it. 

2 Timothy 4:9-11

An encourager is one who inspires, gives help, and brings hope.

Challenge for this week:

  1. Give what you can.
  2. Go to someone in need.
  3. Guide someone along the way.
