Legacy

Joshua 24:14-15

God wants us to live under His promises.

He promised Israel a land with cities they had not built and vineyards they had not planted. Jesus promises you and me

life to the full.

Life to the full includes peace, security, wholeness, purpose and self-control.

To have the promise of God is a daily decision. Will I trust Him today? Will I serve Him today?

Joshua, to the very end of his life, is living with legacy in mind.

How do we get to the point where we have left the faith of our family?

A legacy is not built in one event or one victory. A legacy is built in a lifetime.

A legacy is not wrapped up in one thing. A legacy is wrapped up in a lifetime of actions.

Those actions determine whether the legacy is good or bad.

Joshua gives a call that is consistent throughout all generations. “Choose you this day whom you will serve.”

Hebrews 11:6

Here is the final principle that we learn in this story: Live with legacy in mind.

No matter what our legacy would be right now, God can rewrite our legacy.
