Sermon Outline

How do we know that the signs in our lives are the right ones?

Last week, we talked about listening to God and taking time daily to let Him reinforce the rules in our lives. We need to let Him speak to what we no longer see.

This calls for patience to learn to wait on Him.

Isaiah 40:28-31

There is victory if we learn to wait and not grow weary.

We need to remember that we are driving in a world where everyone else is driving by their own rules.

We become lights in this world when we slow down and let God
guide us

If we want an up close and personal relationship with God, we can
have it
.

Step One: Listen to God.

Step Two: Walk in God’s presence.

You teach yourself to open your mind and heart to Him throughout
your day.

Psalm 16:8 - The word set means, “make an effort”.

The win is, because I am aware of Him, I shall not be shaken.

It is in His presence that we learn to get the right signals in life.

How do we set the Lord before us?

1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing.

Build awareness of God into your life.

  • Before a meeting
  • Before a serious talk with your children
  • Before your children leave the house
  • Before you and your spouse leave in the morning
  • First thing in the morning and last thing at night
  • Emotional events
    • Be thankful for the good events.
    • Ask for help during the bad events.
  • Set up prompts
    • Locations
    • Time of day
    • Concerns in the world
    • When you don’t know what to do
  • In the face of temptation
  • Special events

Be aware of God at every corner, on every road, for every decision, and before every reaction.

Psalm 23:1-6

God will be as up close and personal with you as you allow Him to be.
