How God Sees Nations, Part 2

John 14:6

Last week, we began to talk about the sin of racism, how racism has impacted our country, and what the Christian role is to bring healing.

To be brokers of truth, we have to face truth. If we want the black community to be fair in their judgement of the police, we have to be fair in our judgement of history.

The problem is that the history of injustice has fertilized the ground for distrust, and helped grow the fruit of the Critical Race Theory (CRT).

CRT does not bring healing to our wounds, but deepens them and destroys the pathway to healthy relationships.

The Christian Response:

  • Racism is a sin. What has happened is a result of the sin nature.
  • All are sinners.
  • Sin can only be dealt with by the power Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

In Jesus we find the call to love all mankind.

In Jesus we find the power to love even when we have been wounded.

In Jesus we find the wisdom to know how to justly treat each other at all times.

In Jesus we find the moral footing that society needs to build a healthy society.

The answer will take time. In the meantime:

  • Pray
  • Build relationships.
  • Stand in unity against injustice.
  • Have empathy for those who have been historically oppressed.
  • Speak the truth in love.
  • Look for those who are different than you, and work at getting to know them.
