God’s Power In Crisis

You will be healthier when you know a couple of truths.

1. Crisis, from time to time, is a natural part of our journey on earth.

2. Crisis comes for various reasons.

  • Self-inflicted

  • Inflicted by others

  • Natural causes

  • Spiritual causes

How should we face crisis?

2 Corinthians 1:8-11

Lessons from this passage:

Telling people about our trial is not a weakness.

There was great pressure.

It was beyond their ability to endure.

They despaired of life and felt the sentence of death.

Daniel 3:17-18

Three of the biggest mistakes in crisis:

  1. Blaming God,

  2. Getting angry with God, and

  3. Cutting yourself off from the people of God.

Learn the lesson of dependence.
This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God.

Learn to think right.
Paul writes, “On Him we have set our hope.”

Don’t give in to despair. You belong to God and in eternity He promises great reward to those who are faithful in times of crisis.

The prayers of many help.
Take note of the times in the Bible where Paul appeals to believers to pray for him.

How does God work in crisis?

Paul says, “He will continue to deliver.”
Here is a promise you can hang onto in crisis.

Psalm 46:1-3

Never stop trusting.
Never stop obeying.
Never stop praying.
Never stop connecting with others.
