Sermon Outline

Jeremiah 23:5-6

Why a series on Heaven?

  • Eternal life under God’s care is the blessed hope of mankind.
  • Every bad thing we face is marked by the word “temporary.”
  • The message of Heaven reminds us of the greatness of God.
  • For us to be prepared for the Judgement Seat of Christ.

We misunderstand scripture and the power of God when we try to put the same limitations on God that we put on man.

Jesus came the first time as a servant to meet the greatest need of mankind.

He will come the second time to reign as King.

There will be big changes:

  • Only followers of Jesus will be present on earth as this age begins.
  • Satan and his demons will be locked up.

2 Corinthians 4:4

Jesus is quoted in John 8 that, “the devil is the father of lies.”

A few highlights of the Millennial Age:

  • There will be no more wars.
  • Sickness will be rare and people will live extended lives.
  • The earth will be a utopia of holiness.
  • Animals will be gentle.
  • Mankind’s emotions will be healed.
  • Work will no longer be a necessary drudgery, but will be filled with purpose and joy.
  • Relationships will be healthy.
  • Nature will be controlled.

This time will be better than we can imagine, but not perfect.

There will be two types of humans:

  1. Those who put on immortality and reign with Christ.
  2. Those who live through the Tribulation but still have the human nature.

After 1,000 years, the enemy will be released and we will see the weakness of the law.

Many will follow Satan.

Mankind will need a new set of rules; more than that, they will need a sense of right and wrong.

We don’t have to wait.

Luke 17:20-21,Romans 14:17-19,John 3:3-5

Robert Jeffries says “Bible scholars have coined the term to describe the kingdom of God already but not yet.”

It means the kingdom of heaven is already here, but it has not yet come into its fullness.
