Psalm 29:11     

How can you have life to the full without peace?

For most people, peace is only as deep as their circumstances.

Peace is a product of the knowledge of and the presence of Jesus in our lives.

The knowledge and presence of God must be rooted in the two areas where turmoil can take root: knowledge for the mind and presence for the heart.

Psalm 29:11   

1. Letting peace rule in your mind.

 When we worry, we question the intent of God for our lives.

To have peace, your mind has to be filled with the knowledge of both the power and intent of God.

• What is God’s intent?Romans 8:28,Romans 8:35-39  

The first line of defense against all worry and all trouble comes

with the knowledge that “God loves me!”

• God’s power can do it.

Psalm 29:1-11 – David is saying, “Look at how great and powerful God is. He is king forever. By the way, He blesses (gives from Himself, outside of our ability) His people with peace.”

To have peace, the knowledge of God’s power and intent are vital.

The mind is a battlefield, but how do I protect it?

Philippians 4:8-9  

To have peace of mind requires me to think right thoughts.

When turmoil controls your mind, think about God and His wonder and power and the glory of the Cross.

2. Letting peace rule in your heart.

 There is no real deep peace without the presence of Jesus. 

Philippians 4:4-7 – This verse is one of the great practical teachings in the Bible on how the kingdom of God works.

If you want the peace of Jesus in your life:

• Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always…”
  • What am I rejoicing in? Jesus.
  • When do I rejoice? Always.
    I rejoice that Jesus is greater than all my troubles.
  • This is a heart of worship that is open to Jesus.
  • The answer to peace in my heart is Jesus in me.

• Philippians 4:6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
  • “Do not be anxious…” Don’t get worked up.
  • “by prayer and petition…” Take your worries to God.
  • “with thanksgiving...” Give God thanks for loving you and being with you.
    
    

God loves you and is with you.

Here is the promise:Philippians 4:7

The peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Real peace is in Jesus.
